Bolshoy Ice Dome

Pre-wall technology for sports arena in the Olympic Park of Sochi

One of the key buildings of the Olympic Park in Sochi, Russia, the Bolshoy Ice Dome is a contemporary multi-functional building of global standard. In 2014 the arena played host to hockey matches as part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Also, in 2013, the Channel One Cup and Junior Ice Hockey World Championships were held here.

Specifics of mass events

The Bolshoy Ice Dome is built for 12,000 spectators. The priorities when project planning buildings of such a capacity include the hygienic facilities, in particular the toilets. Only tried-and-tested solutions should be used here.

Pre-wall installation with Viega Eco Plus

Therefore, in the public toilets of the Bolshoy Ice Dome, Viega Eco Plus pre-wall elements were used, which are reliable, economical and convenient in assembly. They were combined with flush plates and urinal plates with non-contact infrared technology of the Visign for Public series. This line meets the strictest requirements as regards the functionality, solidity and anti-vandalism properties, for which reason it is recommended for public toilets that are very frequently used. The perfectly smooth surface of the flush plate (high-strength plastic or stainless steel) does not leave any visible fingerprints and is easy to clean. The urinal plates with contactless flush sensors even do not need any manual actuation.
